Yael Stone, a native of Australia and a resident of New York City in 2013 in the film, played Lorna Mello as the prisoner on Orange Is the New Black. Yael was awarded her NIDA diploma. From a young age, Yael has been lucky enough to work with the best storytellers in Australia, brilliant stars of performance and visionaries behind the scenes in film TV, theatre, and film. Yael enjoys a rich career with a thriving career in Australia. A continuing collaboration with Australia's much-lauded director Neil Armfield culminated in the internationally-renowned production Diary of a Madman, in which she starred opposite Academy- Emmy- and Tony Award-winning actor Geoffrey Rush. Yael made New York City her home after she was a part of the Brooklyn Academy of Music produced this critically-acclaimed show. Yael is the co-founder the company The Cannery. The Cannery encourages innovative writing, and creative endeavors through it's Bushwick studio.
